Summer is the best time for water-related activities with the kids. You can go outdoors for a summer beach outing. Take your kids to underwater theme parks. Or enroll your kids to swimming classes offered nearby. However, if you are living on a tight budget you can come up with inexpensive summer activities that you can simply enjoy in the comforts of your home. For instance, you can setup an inflatable kiddie pool or play around the yard with a water hose. But if you prefer not to get wet and soaked, you can go for fun summer crafts for kids.
There are numerous summer craft ideas that you can make with your kids. Search the internet for specific projects, prepare the materials, and create the crafts with your kids. - Old or Used CD
- Fish Fins, Tail and Mouth template printed or drawn on a construction board
- Construction Board (colors as desired)
- Googly Eyes
- Permanent marker
- Transparent adhesive tape
- Glue or Paste
How to Make Hanging CD Fish Instructions:
Step 2. Prepare the fish fins, tail and mouth. Cut out the fish fins, tail and mouth shapes. Set and paste the shapes over a construction board. And cut pasted shapes leaving a gap to create an outline. Leave to dry.
Get another construction board (similar in color with the cut out fish shapes). Fold 3 to 4 times over. Make sure that the thickness of the fold will fit the CD hole.
Step 3. Setup the CD fish. Set and attach the prepared cut out shapes and folded paper with transparent adhesive tape. Then, add the Googly Eyes.
Step 4. Hang the CD fish. Puncture a small hole on the topmost fin. Insert the thread and tie a knot.
Note: For crafts for kids needing a printer, it is best to always have a ready replacement of ink and toner cartridge. So, always check your printer cartridge supplies.
