    I find little use in having printers for home schooling except for doing tests and language exercises. Most teaching is done on computer now.

      I agree. However there are really good homeschool materials that are printable. These are effective means of getting homeschooled children more involved in the learning process. Learning via computer can be sometimes tiring. Printing educational materials like coloring pages will make learning fun and effective.
