While getting on a fitness program and complying with the exercises, workout routines, diets and supplements programmed by the fitness instructor likely sums up the fitness equation, what is often overlooked especially by gym goers who self instruct, is the dutiful recording of their progress on a workout log.
Recording the minute details pertinent to carried out conditioning (cardio) exercises and resistance (weight) training, as well as noting your body’s reaction when subjected to said workouts; on a workout log may seem like a trivial chore. The workout log was designed for the recording of daily workout information and is organized into 4 parts.
Warm Up Exercises. The first part is a log for assigned warm up exercises and the total time allotted to complete the same.
Cardio Exercises. The second part can be used to record data obtained from exercise equipment such as the treadmill, elliptical and stationary bike based on pertinent machine readings following the conduct of cardio exercise. The provided table can also be used to log non-machine, aerobic activities such as swimming and running.
Resistance/Weight/Strength Training. Another section of this workout log is dedicated for weight training data. Following workouts, the weight, number of sets and repetitions carried out per body targeted exercise can be noted on the space provided. The accuracy and intensity of execution can be rated as well based on a performance rating scale.
Diet & Nutrition. With most printable workout logs, diet and supplementation incorporated with the fitness program is also logged. Our own version allows the user to record foodstuff and supplements consumed for the day; jot down estimated caloric intake and the time of intake as well.
